Applications in regions 2, 7 & 9 are to be completed and submitted to the head office or the regional democratic council. The department will acknowledge receipt of these applications by sending ‘acknowledgement letters’ to the applicants.

NB: the above mentioned letters are applicable for applicants in regions 2, 7 & 9. However, for those persons who would have applied prior to april 2009 in other regions are required to produce those letters.

Failure to attend within one monthof the date of interviews will result in the applicant having to wait for the next batch of interviews, where the applicant can provide substantial evidence to support their claim for not attending the interview, the applicant will be accommodated.

Allottees are required to make the initial payment for the land that is, 1/2of the total cost, within two months of the date of the allocation offer letter.Housing benefit calculator 2016

the balance must be paid along with the fee for the processing of titles / transport within 6 months of the date of the allocation/lottery.

Alllottees are advised that after paying the initial down payment they MUST enter into an agreement of sale subject to certain conditions, with the central housing and planning authority, acting on behalf of the government of guyana. Revenue stamps equivalent to the cost of the lot ($1 for every $1,000, are required for signing of the agreement of sale.

Allottees are expected to start/finish construction within six months after the date of final payment. Failure to construct within the prescribed time frame, will result in the lot being repossessed and / or a review of the allocation.
