Love rich dark chocolate, or do you prefer creamy white chocolate? You may even like BOTH! Bring in your favorite home baked dessert and you may be leaving with a prize! Taking place during the lunchtime hours, residents can maximize their enjoyment by packing and bringing a picnic lunch and fully engaging themselves in the spirit of peace day. During the Community Peace Meal Picnic, everyone will be encouraged to make random acts of kindness promises, enjoy musical entertainment performed by children from different Pembroke Pines area schools and much more. Families will have an opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere and decorate their Picnic Areas by embellishing their picnic blankets, baskets, backpacks, totes and coolers. In partnership with Broward County Library, The Frank offers children and their caretakers a free, fun-filled literacy experience on the Plaza at the Charles F. Dodge City Center! Walk together outdoors, enjoy a self-guided journey through each page of the vibrant children’s book Maybe Something Beautiful by F. Isabel Campoy and Theresa Howell, and participate in free games, snacks, arts and crafts! The first 200 families to complete the StoryWalk will receive a free copy of the featured children’s book to take home.
