Because they’d still live in fear, and wouldn’t be able to have the lives they want. Plus, marty still wants to have the opportunity to make a lot of money so that he can retire rich and have financial freedom. Apart from fear, he is undoubtably motivated by the money and the power. This may end up being a lot like walter whites transformation in breaking bad. Try and look for parallels as they develop the characters in the upcoming seasons. I am fairly certain that there will at least be a few glaring similarities. After all, they have virtually identical subject matter, the only difference is that the byrde’s aren’t involved in the drug production like walt and jesse were, they are exclusively involved in the laundering aspect of the business, which is essentially what skyler and saul were preoccupied with.Money laundering crime anyways, back to your question, apart from it making the show a lot less compelling and exciting, entering the W.P.P. Would make life a lot harder for marty because he would likely have trouble finding a job because he wouldn’t be able to work in the finance, he’d be forced to start at the bottom of the totem pole in a field he likely has no expertise in. Just for the record, i am basing my thoughts on the belief that when someone is caught committing a financial crime like money laundering, they are barred from being involved/fulfilling roles within businesses that work directly with peoples money and assets. Would be good if someone can clarify.
